Heroes and Antiheroes > The Golem's mighty swing

The Golem's mighty swing. James Sturm, 2003.

Butler PN6727.S78 G6 2003g

A superhero bearing the seeds of his own self-destruction: the Golem is a legendary 16th-century homunculus created by Jews to serve and protect, but who inevitably becomes violent and must be destroyed.  In Sturm’s story, a Depression-era Jewish baseball team—the Stars of David—use a Golem to prevent anti-Semitic persecution on their barnstorming tours.
