Case 1: Background: Life in Motherland > Pogroms

A pogrom was a form of race riot, mostly in Russia and Eastern Europe, aimed specifically at Jews and often government sponsored. A bloody wave of pogroms broke out in the 1910s leaving tens of thousands of Jews dead.
