When the Chinese market became inaccessible due to first the Pacific War, and then the Communist revolution, C.V. Starr started exploring other regions of the world, including Latin America, where his company made a particularly strong presence in Cuba.  Unfortunately, after the Castro-led revolution his company was nationalized and he was forced to adjust his focus to other countries in the region.

Here Starr (center) addresses a group of fifty La Interamericana agents during a 1956 trip to Mexico City.  Unit Supervisor F. Salines stands at left while production manager Fernando Bracho listens on the right.
