Perceptions of War > Two-fisted Tales

Two-fisted tales. Harvey Kurtzman, Marie Severin, et alii, 1950s.

Butler PN6728.T86 K87 2006g v.2

These war comics, published by EC Comics in the early to mid-1950s, took the Korean War as their primary focus, though other American wars weren’t off limits.  Occasionally, the stories expressed anti-war sentiment.  Harvey Kurtzman, the principal creator, and Bill Gaines, the publisher, would go on to fame as the minds behind MAD Magazine, after EC Comics disintegrated in the wake of Congressional hearings into the comic book industry.
